It's time to have The Talk...

No, not that Talk. The other Talk. The Talk schools aren’t having. The Talk schools need to have. Not next year. Not next month. Now.

Aevidum is excited to announce a major Aevidum campaign called The Talk that will begin in Lancaster and Lebanon Counties and travel across the state of Pennsylvania and eventually the nation. This truly is a historic opportunity for our students to be a part of a groundbreaking initiative.

The campaign will begin this month and run through next May and will be divided into three distinct parts:
Part One: Engage high school seniors to have The Talk before graduation
Part Two: Enable high school students (9-12th grades) to have The Talk in their schools
Part Three: Empower high school students to deliver an age appropriate Talk to their district's middle and elementary schools

Using the Aevidum philosophy of empowerment, students will use their gifts and talents to creatively deliver the most accurate and relevant information from mental health experts to their peers. As momentum builds throughout the next year, The Talk will provide the platform to shatter the silence that surrounds so many of the issues facing this generation.
  • Suicide is the third leading cause of death for high school students (Centers for Disease Control).
  • 20% of children have a serious mental illness (National Institute of Mental Health).
  • 71% of young people say they have seen bullying in their schools (School Psychology Review).
  • The rate of development of new cases of eating disorders has been increasing since 1950 (National Eating Disorder Association).
  • 72% of students have consumed alcohol (more than just a few sips) by the end of high school (SAMHSA).

Aevidum works because it is authentic. It has been endorsed by leading mental health professionals, school superintendents, school principals, teachers, counselors and most importantly, the students who continue to embrace this lifesaving initiative.

Silence has destroyed far too many lives.
The students are ready.
You can help us break the silence.
Let's talk.
